Gerald Edward Pittman II

Gerald Edward Pittman II, age 52, of Grand Rapids, died unexpectedly at Holland State Park on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Gerald was a loving and devoted husband and dad, and most recently became a proud “papa” to his grandson. He always treasured the time spent with family and was kind hearted and affectionate with his love shown to them. Gerald was quiet and kind, and appreciated the simple things in life. He had a servant’s heart and took great joy in serving others. He was blessed with the gift of cooking and shared his talents with his family and friends. Gerald enjoyed the outdoors and being in the country. He especially enjoyed being by the water and watching boats. Gerald even dreamed about someday living on a boat! Above all, his faith in Jesus and time spent with family was evident to all who knew him. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Jackie Lynn; his 7 children, Ethan Nathaniel Jones-Smit, Nickiya Monae Katherine Thomas, Aldreth Jhonique Emmanuel Pittman, Jared Edward Pittman, Manuel Jacob Pittman, Violetta Linda Pittman, and Bradley Dione Pittman; his grandson, Oliver; his parents, Gerald Edward and Amie Lee Pittman; his parents-in-law, Jack Smit, Joyce Mead; his siblings, Adrian Ricky Pittman, Tien-Cheri Pittman, Kristin Angel Pittman-Monmaur and Vincent Monmaur, Roger Oliver, and Karl Pittman. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30, 1pm at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont with his cousin, Pastor JR Pittman officiating. His family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to consider the needs of the family.
