George Wiersema

George Wiersema, age 85, of Jenison, passed away peacefully and went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 and is now reunited with his wife of 57 years, Wilma.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Hilda Miedema; sister-in-law, Ruth Wiersema. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Al and Deb Wiersema, Wes and Laurie Wiersema, Gordon and Ruth Wiersema, Bruce and Lori Wiersema; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Wiersema, Bernie and Sylvia Wiersema; brother-in-law, Elmer and Leona Miedema; several nieces and nephews. George was a furniture maker for over 50 years. He loved working and serving at the Christian Reformed Church Conference Grounds. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 11 am at Twelfth Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 7441 12^th Ave., Jenison, with Rev. Mark Bennink and Rev. James Evenhouse officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
