BRIGGS - Genevieve Rita Briggs aged 81 of Rockford passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, October 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Sobleskey. Surviving are children, Beverly (John) Herington, Gloria (Pat) Sobleskey-Maynard, Judy (Dave) Maynard, Shelly (Mark) Messenger, Shirley (Jim) Stehouwer, Ed (Sue) Briggs; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy (Vicki) La Lond, Bobby La Lond; sisters, Susie Pardington, Iris (Jay) Spencer, Mary (Sam) Blanton, Gerarda Jameroz; several nieces and nephews. Rita retired from Amway. Per her request, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of her life will be held Saturday October 8, 2016.
