Gene Dunn

Namon Eugene “Gene” Dunn, age 96, of Jenison, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Cecilia. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Darlene Lemay; grandchildren, Shelley and Lonny Kuiper, Scott Ziegler and Chanda McCuien, Amy Ziegler; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Renee Kuiper, Bryce Kuiper, Kienan Kuiper, Zachary Ziegler, Dugan McCuien, Kiai McCuien; great-great-grandchildren, Rhys Kuiper, Marlowe Kuiper; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Gene had a long career at International Paper, volunteered for many years as a literacy tutor at Wyoming Community Education, enjoyed golfing, storytelling (The King and His Court), and was a tinkerer at heart. Gene was known as “Grandpa” to everyone he knew. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. The burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
