Gayle Arlene Alkema

Gayle Arlene Alkema (Roetman), passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, daughter-in-law, Debra Alkema, and her brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Beverly Roetman. She will be sadly missed by her children, Scott and Heather Alkema, Kurt and Lorie Alkema, Gary and Julie Alkema; 8 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Marian Roetman; many loving nieces and nephews; several dear friends. Gayle loved life to the fullest, and treasured her family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 11:00 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Armand Aronson officiating.  Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family from 9-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to a local charity of one’s choice.
