Remembering Gavin   Punter

Punter, Gavin PUNTER:  Gavin James Punter, age 4, of Allendale, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 22, 2012.  He was a well mannered boy with a kind spirit.  Gavin loved John Deere Tractors, the outdoors and his dog, Coco.  He will be deeply missed by his mother, Kaitlin Dereski; father, Steven Punter; grandparents, Kathy Dereski, Harold and Margaret Punter; aunts and uncles, Jennifer and Corey Bruins (Durstin, Taylyn, Crue), Kimberly and Timothy Rietman (Hudson, Hunter, Hartley), Bryan and Debra Punter, Rafa Panise, Vaan Huynh, Yeon-Hee Kim; great grandparents, Lloyd and Genevieve Lemmen, Case and Dora Punter; many other great uncles, aunts and second cousins.  Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday at Fellowship Reformed Church, 6610 36th Ave., Hudsonville, with Rev. Shawn Hulst officiating.  Interment Allendale Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the needs of the family in care of Huntington Bank, with checks made out to “Memorial Fund for Gavin Punter”. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday 4-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Allendale) 6651 Scott St.   Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

I can't express the sorrow that I have. As soon as I heard the call come out my heart broke. Please know that all of the people that responded that day will remember your little boy. The police, the EMT's the firemen, the dispatchers, everyone. Those type of things we will never forget. We will remember his sweet smile and the great storys that have been told about him. Please know that you little boy will NEVER be forgotten. Never. I went home and hugged my own kids a little tighter and remembered that each day we are given is a gift and to treasure it.
