Gary Wohlford

Gary L. Wohlford, age 58 earned his wings and went home to be with the Lord on November 23rd, 2020. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Russell Wohlford and Virginia Elliston; brother Charles Wohlford; sister Arlene Treece; and mother in law Sandra "Memaw" Willison.

Gary is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lorie Wohlford, children Travis (Holly) Wohlford, Chelsey Wohlford, grandchildren Remington and Clayton Pool, Savannah and Amberia Wohlford, Carter and Anessa Wohlford, Jaxson and Novalee TenBrink. Brothers Rich (Kaye) Wohlford, Dusty (Diane) Elliston, Scott Elliston. Sisters Patricia Gerard, Evonne Wohlford, Tammy (Craig) McIntyre, Sharon Elliston. Brothers in law Larry Treece, Sr., Randy (Dora) Willison. Sister in law Stacy (Jeff) Truax. Father in law Jerald Willison. A special Aunt Sharon Boettcher, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In his early years, Gary loved going to Berlin Raceway. He was the proud owner of a '69 Chevelle he called "Sweet Emotions." He watched Nascar races, Andy Griffith, and his favorite Christmas movie was "It's a Wonderful Life."  Gary loved his family and watching his grandchildren grow. He enjoyed the woods, bow hunting, and road trips to get the mail. 
Gary was know for his quick wit and one liners guaranteed to make you crack a smile. "I once thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken." 

Gary was a hard working provider for his family. He even made Lorie's dream of getting a horse a come true. He often told her "If you like it, I love it!" He retired from the City of Grand Rapids after 30 years. He restored a 1950 Ford Pick Up, built beautiful decks, and rebuilt bikes for the neighborhood kids. He would always say "I'm a Jack of all trades, and a Master of none." 

Gary was a very social person, he would use any excuse to go neighboring. Him and his buddies built a homemade pig roaster for summer barbecues. We will plan a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
