Gary L. Bauman

Gary Lee Bauman born November 1, 1956 in Grand Rapids, MI; died July 13, 2015 in Jenison, MI.  Gary on Monday July 13th won his release from cancers ravaging effects and passed away after fighting for many years. He was preceded in death by Linda Steever; mother Leona (Byrnes) Foster; father Robert K Bauman; brother Wayne Bauman and by his dear stepfather Dan Foster. He leaves behind his children, Krystle Bauman; Sarah (Matt) Grimes; Jason Bauman, and Zeke Bauman.  His three grandchildren; Hailee, Antonio, and Liam.  His beloved sister, Marilyn (Bauman) Lake (Robert); whose love and care and devotion to him during his many cancer treatments he frequently marveled at and spoke often of.  He also leaves behind his nephew Wayne Lake and niece Heather Lake. It was Gary's wish to remember two of his dear friends, John Nyman and Sally Parnell, with whom he enjoyed many happy hours with. And now Gary's sweet dog Maggie will now live out her remaining days with John. Gary loved anything to do with cars including going to the races.  He loved growing up at Big Pine Island Lake.  He loved the water and water skiing. Gary was in the towing business for several years before he went into the flooring industry.  His works were well respected. Gary's life wasn't an easy one and he admitted making mistakes and bad choices along his way. During Gary's cancer battles he found his forgiveness in his new found faith in God.  He asked often if he had begun believing in God to late in his life and if heaven would ever accept the likes of him. With his sister Marilyn's constant assurances, we believe that heaven opened its doors widely on July 13th 2015 and took Gary HOME ! There will be a service for Gary Thursday, July 23, 2015  2:00 pm at Grand Rapids 1st, 2100 - 44th Street SW Wyoming MI 49519. Rest in peace Gary
