Fred Luca

DE LUCA - Mr. Fred O. De Luca, aged 94 of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 8, 1916 to Dominico and Francesa De Luca. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary (Genovese); sisters, Rosalie De Luca, Josephine De Carlo; brother, August De Luca. Surviving are his sons, Don (Sandra) De Luca, Sam (Toni) De Luca; grandchildren, Chris (Val) De Luca, Don De Luca, Sherry Jo (Chuck) Mick, Jennifer De Luca, Angela (Sixto) Placencia, Cathy (Josh) England; great grandchildren, Dominic, Olivia, Jake, Marcy, Mary, Theo, Ellie, Lilly, Julia, Peter, Penny, Mason, Sammy, Alex; brother, Vince (Anne) De Luca; sisters-in-law, Mary Genovese, Angela (Jerry) Mills and brother-in-law, Larry Ambrose; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Fred was a Veteran of WWII and was a member of the Catholic War Veterans. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Sons of Italy and Rowe Retirees. He retired from Rowe AMI after 30 years of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00AM, Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Our Lady of Sorrows, 101 Hall Street SE with Rev. Theodore Kozlowski celebrant. His family will greet relatives and friends friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. and one hour prior to Mass at church. Prayers of the rosary will be recited 7:30PM Friday at the funeral chapel. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
