Franklin “Frank” J. Blakeslee

Franklin “Frank” J. Blakeslee, aged 83 of Kentwood, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 23, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Fred. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn; children, Scott (Robin) Blakeslee, David Blakeslee, Brian (Carrie) Blakeslee; grandchildren, Jen (Chad) Senneker, Nicole (Jon) Chulski, David Blakeslee, Joe Blakeslee, Emily Blakeslee, Brian Blakeslee; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Chloe Senneker; and sister, Alice (John) Boyce. Frank proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1990 from General Motors after working there for 37 ½ years. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, and especially Steve, for their special care of Frank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1213 – 52^nd Street SE, Kentwood with Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, and also at the church on Thursday from 10-11 am prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or St. Mary Magdalen Church.
