Dear Shelly and Mike, Joan and Den, Carl and Deb, and families all - When we moved in next door to your folks and you kids as newlyweds almost a half century ago, we had no idea the adventures and the genuine bond of friendship that awaited us! So many wonderful and lasting memories flood over us in the many conversations and interactions we had with your dad and mom. In many ways, they became almost like parents to us - we could always count on them to "be there", no matter the circumstances, with their observations, humor, input and support, and we will miss that very much! We loved your mom for her patient, gentle ways and the way she understood your dad so well. And we loved your dad for his spunk, fierce loyalties, "frankness", and "straight ahead and gunner" ways. Precious, precious memories. They are forever etched in our hearts, and our hearts are with you all. Jerry and Jane

I came to know Frank through hospice. It was truly an honor to become his friend. We shared many memories of our time in Germany and of our service in the Army. It was a joy to see how clear his recollections were and how genuinely sincere he was in sharing these vivid life experiences. My extend my personal sympathies to his family. Rest in peace my friend.

Thank you for being a wonderful pen pal for 28 years since we met the first time in the train to Berlin. I still have the Dollar with your signature in my wallet. It was so "wunderbar" that we could visit you some years ago and spend some time together. It was a nice coincidence to find out, that we served at the same Air Force Base in Germany, but about 40 years apart. You as an American, me as a German.
