Frank Alan Bouwens, aged 59 of Alto, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, March 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eunice Bouwens and brother-in-law, Steve Antecki. He is survived by his wife, Julie; sister, Mary Antecki; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Ellen (Marty) Murray, Hershal Jr. (Mary) McGowan; nieces and nephews, Steven Antecki, Maria (James) Allen and their children, Jonathan and Sophia; special cousin, Rod Janose; and many other family members and friends. Frank grew up farming in the Alto area for much of his life. He also continued in a small engine repair business started by his father, and everyone knew him as “Frankie the Chainsaw Guy”. He loved the outdoors, especially his trips hunting and visiting family in Montana. Funeral services for Frank will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 616 E. Main Street, Caledonia with Rev. Gary Dougherty officiating. Interment Bowne Center Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Wyatt’s Cord.

Julie-We love you and are praying for comfort for you-in the form of memories, pictures and support of family and friends at this sad and difficult time. I didn't know Frank well, but the few times I was with him, he was always so cheerful and happy and laughed easily. I think he would want us all to celebrate his life, rather than mourn his death.
