Francis Lamb

Francis (Fran) C. Lamb passed away Monday, September 3, 2018. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI February 9, 1931, son of Vida (Redlin) and Francis Lamb. Fran graduated from Fond du Lac High School, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and Michigan State University, Mastering in Education. Fran taught Social Studies and History in Madison Heights MI, Monona, WI, and Grosse Pointe, MI, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed being with his family, friends, and volunteering for North Kent Connect for many years. He was an avid reader and gardener at his home in Rockford, MI. Fran was preceded in death by his parents, sister Helen Schroeder, brother-in-law Al Schroeder, and brother William Lamb. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Marion Lamb, children Jill (Mark) Macauley, Paul Lamb, and granddaughter Emily Macauley. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 3215 Four Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525. The family will greet friends and relatives from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with a celebration of Fran's life following at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor David Blank and Father Tom Page. A fellowship gathering is planned after the service. Private burial will be held at Blythefield Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Kindred Hospice and the administration and professional, compassionate staff at Green Acres Assisted Living of Cedar Springs, MI.
