Francis “Frank” Palmer, age 81, of Florida, formerly of Caledonia, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen; an infant daughter, Dawn; son-in-law, Jeff Holst; and granddaughter, Melissa Holst.  He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Terri Holst, Denise Palmer, Connie and Haris Zunic, Scott Palmer; grandchildren: Nathan (Beth) Holst, Nina Roberts, Jacob Holst, Nicholas Holst, Sean Holst, Kelly (David) Kuiper, Matthew Cavanaugh, Justin Palmer, Jeremy Palmer, Morgan Palmer; step granddaughter, Mikaela Zunic; 7 great grandchildren with one more on the way; and many nieces and nephews.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Frank was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast and enjoyed visiting casinos in Las Vegas, near his hometown at Gun Lake, and in Florida. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Larry King officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to National M.S. Society.
