Frances “Fran” Schuur

Frances “Fran” Emily Schuur, age 96, of Hudsonville, peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, October 19, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham "Abe" Schuur; son, Gary Schuur and his wife, Pat; parents, Flora and Peter Miedema; brothers and sisters-in-law, John "Jay" and Elsie Miedema, Harold "Ted" Miedema, Ed and Sadie Miedema; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Donald Rozema; Abe's 12 brothers and sisters plus their spouses, sister-in-law, Jan Miedema. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gaylord and Nancy Schuur, Wayne and Corinne Schuur, Donna Schuur-Whitcomb (Bob Ellis); grandchildren, Greg (Kinda) Schuur, Geoffrey (Katie) Schuur, Mitchell (Theresa) Schuur, Kevin (Brooke) Schuur, Rick (Renee) Schuur, Amy (Jeremy) Hoekstra, Matthew (Amber) Wansten, Kristin (Jonathan) Howarth; many great grandchildren; brother, Don Miedema; sister-in-law, Jan Miedema; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Don Van Slyke officiating.  Interment Rosedale Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home and also on Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice or to a charity of one’s choice.
