Frances Apsey

Frances Ann Apsey, age 83, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2024. Fran was preceded in death by her son, Thomas M. Apsey; parents, Robert and Geraldine Kornoelje; brothers, Dick, Tom, and Marc Kornoelje; Fran will be lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 64 years, Thomas; children, Daniel and Beth Apsey, John and Jackie Apsey, Sheri Lehmann; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Joann and Dale Larabel, brother, Bob and Sharon Kornoelje; sisters-in-law, Florence Kornoelje, Juliette Kornoelje; several nieces and nephews. Fran’s family meant everything to her, especially her grandchildren who were her whole world. Fran and her first grandchild, Sarah, shared a special relationship that can only be truly known by the two of them. She showed her family unconditional love and was the stable, supportive, emotional rock of the family. Her sparkling blue eyes will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Kaila from Faith Hospice for her love and care shown to Fran. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, September 8 from 2-4 pm at the funeral home, and from 10-10:45 am on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
