Frances Ann Caldwell

Frances Ann Caldwell, age 85, of Caledonia, formerly of Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Fran was a loving woman who cared for her mother for many years. She was also well loved by all who met her, sharing guidance and wisdom. She worked as a travel agent for many years and enjoyed traveling. She was a community activist in her earlier years. She started a softball league, was an avid reader and also worked to help the poor at Saint Vincent de Paul and Amvets. She was always an advocate for children, and she went to Belize and volunteered her time and talents sewing and sending sewing machines. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Thelma McCracken; daughters, Vicky Favreau and infant, Mary; half-sister, Catherine Hathaway. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Theresa Hellwig, Thomas and Nancy Stortz, Jim and Tammy Stortz; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sisters: Edith and Bob Ferguson, Micky and Jim Ponshair; many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Holy Family Church, 9669 Kraft Ave. SE, Caledonia, with Rev. Rock Badgerow and Rev. Michael Cilibraise, celebrants. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit the family on Tuesday, November 23 from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 616 E. Main St., Caledonia.
