Floyd L. Kooienga, age 91, of Walker, went from the church militant to the church triumphant on Friday, September 6, 2019.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores and grandson, Andrew Uitvlugt.  Floyd is survived by children, Cheryl and Bob Uitvlugt, Tom and Lois Kooienga, Bruce Kooienga, Barb Pals, Doug Kooienga, Karl and Nancy Kooienga; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Ron and Darla Kooienga; extended family and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Dave Brower officiating.  Interment River Bend Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, September 9, from 6-8 pm and on Tuesday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Edison Christian Health Center.
