Evelyn Marie Maatman

On May 15, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, Evelyn Marie Maatman, age 90, took the hand God offered her and quietly went to her heavenly home. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who had a determined spirit and cared deeply for family unity and traditions. Evelyn loved reading, traveling, mani-pedis, trips to the casino, and telling stories from her past. Her presence was always noticed by everyone around her because of her big smile and contagious laughter. She was a selfless woman, full of spunk, with the biggest heart. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Norman, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Diane (Larry) Pelton, Steve Maatman (Amy Catlin), Scott (Ginny) Maatman; grandchildren: Brian (Elizabeth) Pelton, Tracy Klein, Jourdan (Spencer) Ursul, Sam Catlin; great-grandchildren: Elliott and Norah Klein; sister Sharon (Robert) Kornoelje; and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. 

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Pine Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice https://faithhospicecare.org/donate/ or a Veteran's charity of one’s choice.
