Evelyn Kloostra

February 7, 2025

Evelyn Joy (Bosman) Kloostra, age 69, of Byron Center, was peacefully called into the loving arms of Jesus surrounded by her family on Friday, February 7, 2025. Evelyn was married to the love of her life, Randy, for 48 years.  She was a devoted and loving mother, and a deeply caring grandma, who faithfully followed the Lord in every step of her life. Evelyn was the joy of her family and friends. She was intentional in every relationship, patient in suffering, and compassionate to all. Her quiet, strong, and resilient strength carried her through her seven-year journey with cancer. Evelyn used her talents working various jobs, culminating in her most recent position at Calvin University in the graduate Speech & Language Pathology Program. She loved traveling the world with Randy, golfing, gardening, watching her grandchildren grow, and spending meaningful time with family and friends. Evelyn’s favorite place to be was at the cottage with loved ones, and she will always be remembered as her family’s “EVerything”. She is now fully healed and restored, sitting by the still waters in Heaven with her beautiful Savior.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hilda Bosman; sister, Dolores Heusinkveld; brother, Edward Bosman;, and her dear friend, Lori Weesies. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Randy; children and grandchildren, Derek and Erin Kloostra (Leah, Andon); Lindsey and Tim Adams (Charlotte, Hattie); Tara and Daniel Johnson  (Quinn); siblings, John and Arlis Bosman, Sandi Mehl,  Rich and Linda Bosman, Karen and Bob Vonhof, Lynette and Phil Walters; loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at Noon on Wednesday, February 12, at Ada Bible Church, 1640 E. Paris Ave. SE, Kentwood, 49546 with her brother, Pastor Rich Bosman officiating.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday, February 11, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to World Renew Disaster Response.
