Evelyn Isabel Thias, age 101, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 10, 2019. She was born in Two Harbors, Minnesota to William and Wilhelmina Carlson on June 6, 1918 before she and her husband Frederick settled in Michigan. Evelyn was gifted in many ways, enjoying sewing, cooking, and gardening.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that cherished her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Frederick; her sister, Helen Haveri. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her children, Donna Mae and Bob Popma, Fred Thias; her grandchildren, Bob and Tamara Popma, Renee and TJ Thompson, Ryan and Tara Popma, Nicholas Popma; her great-grandchildren, Seth, Chase, Abby, Kyleigh, and Olivia; loving nieces, nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 14, at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating  Relatives and friends may meet the family from 1 - 2  pm prior to the service at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grace Hospice.
