Evelyn Hattie Blakeslee, aged 83 of Kentwood, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; sister, Lorraine Donovan; and her parents, Vince and Hattie Hilaski.  She is survived by her sons: Scott (Robin) Blakeslee, David Blakeslee (Amy Chlebek) , Brian Blakeslee; grandchildren: Jen (Chad) Senneker, Nicole (Jon) Chulski, David Blakeslee Jr., Joe Blakeslee, Emily Blakeslee, Brian Blakeslee Jr.; great grandchildren: Hailey and Chloe Senneker; many nieces and nephews.  Evelyn graduated from Hopkins High School and worked for many years at Gordy’s Supermarket.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1253 - 52nd Street SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Peter Vu presiding.  Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming and 10-11 a.m. at the church on Tuesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or St. Mary Magdalen Church.
