Evelyn Beth DeJongh

Evelyn Beth DeJongh, age 71, of Allendale, met Jesus face to face on February 1, 2021, and is walking the streets of gold. Evie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, Jerry; sons: Randy and Chris DeJongh (Kaleigh, Tanneill, Isabella, Jaylen), Brian and Shannon DeJongh (Tyler, Blaine, Ciara, Lance); sisters: Sue VanderMolen, Lucy and John Longshore, Diane and John Plantenga; brother, Tony and Mary Kuyt; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joni DeJongh, Janet and Rick VanRhee, Judy and Steve Pawloski, Julius and Jennee DeJongh, Jenny and John Haga; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Dorothy Kuyt; sister, Nancy Dalstra; brother-in-law, Jason DeJongh; and sisters-in-law: Julie DeJongh, and Janice DeJongh. Evie was very active in her church as a teacher and volunteer for many different activities including “Wee Wisdom”, missions, funeral planning, and nursery. She enjoyed traveling with her husband around the world. She also enjoyed horseback riding, scrapbooking, camping, softball, bowling, watching old westerns, spending time with her sisters in Florida, Shipshewana, Frankenmuth and more. She also spent good times traveling with her DeJongh sister-in-laws. Most of all, she loved being with her family, including holidays at their Mason County property. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel Pointe Church, 3350 Baldwin St., Hudsonville, with Pastor Steve Harlos officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the church and from 10-11 a.m. at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Allendale Township Cemetery. In memory of Evie, contributions may be made to the Chapel Pointe Missions Fund.
