Remembering Evan Peter Busch

Evan Peter Busch, age 76 of Wyoming, was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Saturday, June 17, 2017 surrounded by his family. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Diane; his children, Christopher, Sarah (Greg) Lichti, Valerie (Steve) McCoy; grandchildren, Brett and Madelyn Lichti, Evan and Alex McCoy; sisters, Mary K (Rich) Brockie, Barbara Bartley, Lee Ann (Ray) Marzean, Stephanie (Karl) Gohlke; many nieces and nephews. Evan was devoted to God, family and life. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a chaplain’s assistant at the Army War College. He was a quiet, loving man who always had a smile for those he met. Evan loved adventure and trying new things, including scuba diving. In 1994, he declared he and Christopher were going on a once in a lifetime trip downhill skiing in the Rockies which became an annual trip until 2011. He enjoyed camping, garage sales, tinkering and weird vacations like traveling to see the oldest Chestnut tree in Michigan. He loved music and played the guitar at church and religious education classes and took his CD’s of John Denver with them skiing in Colorado. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 21 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Fr. Mike Alber presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday, June 20 from 5 - 8 pm with a prayer vigil at 5:30 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.

Prayers to all of the family. He was such a nice man. He could always get a group of moody adolescents to smile for sports pictures.

I remember Evans quiet way. I especially remember his trips to Huntington Woods to sing to Diane's students and I know he had a love of photography. He will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love, Bud and Andrea
