I greatly appreciate what Mrs. Engle did for me as a young boy with reading struggles in Caledonia. She was very patient and caring and taught me how to read and sound out words. She was a great neighbor and she lived down the street from my childhood home on Kraft Ave. (across from Gene & Velma Loew). I remember playing on her front lawn with one of her grandsons with our toy army guys. I currently live north of Traverse City with my wife and 3 boys and I told them the other day about Mrs. Engle and what she did for me. I asked them to think that when they are in their 50's to look back at a teacher that changed their life and made it better...Sincerely, Philip Loew

We are so sorry to hear of Mrs. Engle's passing...she will always be loved and remembered as a teacher and neighbor...We have fond memories of both Mr. and Mrs. Engle as neighbors...she started us exchanging holiday treats with neighbors and offering bits of wisdom to us as young parents...We also remember them both as important parts of the Caledonia School system for many years. So sorry we could not be there to offer prayers at her funeral...they are together again in heaven as they were both great people.

Hi, You have my sympathy at the passing of "Mrs. Engle". I enjoyed your father as my Michigan History teacher and knew both of your parents as members of my church and community. I then thought and now think the world of both of them. I am so happy that they will be united once again, though I am sorry for those of use who will miss them daily on Earth. May they be together this evening in a shiny red truck driving off into the sunset in heaven.
