Eunice Kaye Koster, age 83, of Jenison was called home by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born February 12, 1942, in Cadillac, Michigan to the late Gerrit and Willemina Grashuis. As the oldest of five siblings, Eunice took on many chores at their family farm in McBain. She always brought the fun and games; and may have gotten into a bit of mischief along the way. Instead of collecting the chicken eggs, she found humor in throwing them at her siblings.
Becoming a mother revealed Eunice’s true purpose in life. Raising three boys brought its own set of challenges, but God knew she could handle this task with humility and grace. The ultimate gift was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who filled her heart with joy. She loved spending quality time with them and pouring into their lives.
Eunice was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed sharing her creativity with the ones she loved by crafting, knitting, and jewelry making. She also deeply cherished her time worshipping the Lord in the Calvary Church Choir. She loved spending time with her sisters, cousins, and friends, traveling the world, playing card games, animal print, turquoise, red geraniums, the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Diet Coke, Cheetos, and dill pickles.
One of Eunice's favorite verses was Proverbs 31: 25, “She is clothed in strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.” She found peace and strength in her Lord and Savior and never feared her future.
Eunice was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brynn Koster; great-grandson, Oakes Glashower; sister, Wanda Lenderink; two brothers-in-law, Jack Huizenga, and Arend Lenderink. Eunice will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Mitch (Linda) Koster, Brent (Carrie) Koster, Chad (Andrea) Koster; six grandchildren: Zach (Annie) Koster, Breanne (Caleb) Glashower, Elle (John) Prins, Natalie Koster, Lillian Koster, Matthew Koster; great-grandchildren: Winnie, Margot and Miller Koster, Poppy, Trillium, Florence, Magnolia, Woodson, and Forrest Glashower, Ruthie, Frankie, and Louie Prins; step grandchildren: Chris (Jackie) Bosman, Ashley (Jason) DeWitt; and step great-grandchildren: Cooper, Coby, and Jaylen Bosman, Emily, and Callie DeWitt. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister, Jack (Beverly) Grashuis, Jackie (Adrian) VanDerWoude, Ken Grashuis and fiancée, Lori Lockyear; and many special nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, June 22 from 3-6 pm and on Monday, June 23 from 10:00-10:45 am prior to the service at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Blendon Township Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Allendale Christian School.
