Eugene Morey

Eugene George Morey, age 94, of Howard City, went home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, October 11, 2024. Eugene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He loved playing softball and spending time outdoors. He was a member of Luther Bible Chapel. Eugene was a lay pastor who was able to minister to many people that he came in contact with. He cherished his family deeply and made many memories with them. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Morey; sister, Betty Lou and Eugene Gagne; and brother-in-law, Richard DeHaan. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Jeanette; children, Scott Morey, Monte and Susan Morey, Dan Harmsen, Ross and Cindy Morey, Kent Morey, Faye and Greg Staskewicz; son-in-law, Jeffrey Johnson; 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce DeHaan; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, October 17, at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont. Burial will be held at Coman Cemetery in Middleville, MI. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
