Eugene Casarez, age 81, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.  He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era.  

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 58 years, Juanita; children: Eva, Jaime, Joaquin; grandchildren: Cecilia, Amelia, Guadalupe (Lupita), Patricia, Lupe (Diego), Matthew, Jay (Jeremy), Jaime II, Brianna, Richard, Savannah; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, John (Josie); Aunt, Angie Guiterrez; many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his Father, Eugenio Casarez, mother, Dolores Casarez; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Thursday, September 11, 2025,  at  St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Rev. John Vallier presiding.  Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with a rosary held at 7pm.  A visitation will also be held one hour prior to Mass on Thursday.
