Ethel Hirt

Ethel Berridge Hirt aged 92 of Jenison passed away Monday, May 11, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Christian Doyle Hirt; sons, Billy Hirt, Dennis Hirt; granddaughter, Jennifer; great grandsons, Nicholas and Brandon. She is survived by daughter, Kathy (Bernie) DeWildt; son, Tim (Carol) Hirt; daughter-in-law, Sandy Hirt; grandchildren, Chris (Ken) Pokora, Bob ( Michelle Vollema) DeWildt, Billy (Lorraine) Hirt, Roberta (Chris) Pelton and (Henry Kuhfeldt), Brad DeWildt, Amanda (Austin) LaBryn, Christian Hirt, Kait (Dave) Kettmann, Bill Hirt; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; sister, Sidney Ann Haggerty; brother, Peter (Pauline) Berridge; brothers-in-law, Bob Hirt, Ron (Marj) Hirt; sister-in-law, Marjorie Leale; many nieces and nephews. Ethel‘s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Staff at the Laurels of Hudsonville for their care especially Kaitlyn and Margaret Mary. She retired from ROWE/AMI and started a retiree's club in 1985 that is still active. Both she and Doyle were longtime members of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Jenison and were one of the 25 families instrumental in getting the new Church built. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish 2700 Baldwin St. Jenison, MI. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service at church. Doyle was a WWII Navy Veteran; he and Ethel will be interred with Military Honors at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer for the Funeral Luncheon Committee to aid those in need of assistance with funerals.
