LEPINAT - Erwin August (Bob) Lepinat, aged 85, peacefully went to eternal rest with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Gertrude (Jahner); his sister, Emma (Gudneau); his beloved wife, Marion (Laesch); his son, Robert; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Laesch; and his brothers-in-law, William Alexander, Norman Laesch and Louis Gudneau. He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Donald) Turnes; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Carl (Evelyn) Laesch, Harold (Adele) Laesch, Robert (Wanda) Laesch; sisters-in-law, Johann Alexander, Patricia (Joseph) Sarnecky; nephews, nieces and cousins. Bob was born March 4, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan. He was raised in Detroit; graduated from Eastern High School, during which time he actively participated in the ROTC. Bob was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war, he married his sweetheart, Marion, in September of 1947. He then went to work in the brewing industry; his first brewery being E&B, and in 1985 ended his working career at Stroh's Brewing Company in Detroit. Bob loved baseball; he regularly attended Tiger baseball games. He also played sandlot baseball for several years himself. He played first base and his baseball mitt, nicknamed THE CLAW, saw plenty of action. They played ball on Belle Isle in Detroit. In September 2008, he moved from Warren, Michigan, to Hudsonville, Michigan, to be closer to his daughter and son-in-law, and resided at Sheldon Meadows Living Center where he received tender care and a place to call Home. "Our memories are our keepsake with which we will never part, God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts." Per his request, cremation has taken place.
