Erin Gawne

GAWNE - Erin Elizabeth Gawne, age 39, passed away Thursday February 28, 2018. Erin graduated from Big Rapids High School, attended Culinary Arts School and held a variety of food service positions. She participated in the Epilepsy Summer Stroll for several years and led the "Rocking Butterfly" group. Erin is best known as a great friend to so many. Her warm smiles and genuine hugs were always available for those that surrounded her. Erin loved being with family, and she especially loved spending time with the little ones. Erin will be dearly missed by all, including her cat, Bella Rose. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl C. Gawne, Rosemond Gawne, Thomas W. and Mildred Lewis, and Harry Ward. Erin is survived by her mother, Patricia (James) Ward and father, Gary Gawne; brother, Jerod L. Gawne; step-brothers, James (Aimee) Ward, Joseph (Rachel) Ward, step-sister, Jessica (Joseph) Albin, grandmother, Antoinette Ward; aunts and uncles, Ronald (Deanna) Salik, David (Marge) Lewis, Paul (Carol) Lewis, Michael Lewis, Patricia Moore, Irene (Ronald) Buite, Barbara (Larry) LeBaron, Jean Hitzemann, Kim (Eddie) Roak, Jamie (Kelley) Gawne. Erin's family will greet relatives and friends 3:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday at the funeral chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, March 10 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont.
