FLORIDA - Mr. Eric Florida aged 48 of Sparta went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 11, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Ken Florida. Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Gwen; mother, Helen Florida; brothers, Scott (Lori) Florida, Ken Florida; also surviving are Gwen's parents, Jim and Joyce Allen; her sisters, Melissa (Ken) Hayes, Janice (Andrew) Headings; 13 nieces and nephews. A gathering and celebration of Eric's life will be held Wednesday August 16, 2017 from 5PM to 9PM with a time of prayer, sharing and dinner at 5:30PM at Alpine Baptist church, 692 7 Mile Road NW in Comstock Park, with Pastor Doug Compton and Eric's brother, Pastor Scott Florida officiating. Several years ago, Eric was diagnosed with a rare form of auto-immune hepatitis, which slowly destroyed Eric's liver and impacted his lung capacity to the point of needing a transplant of both organs.
