Emma Rena Venisnik

Emma Venisnik, age 101, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on April 23, 2024. She was born on February 11, 1923 in Girard, Kansas to John and Palona Malnar. She graduated from Girard High School in 1940 and married Ludy Venisnik of Cockerill, Kansas that same year. They had three children, Judith, Kenneth, and John. Emma outlived all three of her children. She retired in 1989, at the age of 66, from the State Attorney Juvenile Division in Waukegan, IL. She moved to Grand Rapids after her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ludy (1971); sister, Helen Ewolski (2003); daughter, Judy (2002); and sons, Ken (2020) and John (2015); and dear son-in-law, Earl Mandeville (2023). She is survived by 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and daughter in laws, Patricia Venisnik and Barbara Venisnik. We would like to thank Interim HealthCare Hospice for their compassionate care and attention. Upon honoring her wishes, no formal service will be held. Her parting words were often “thanks a million.” We will miss you, Grandma… thanks a million.
