Howard, Emma Emma Joyce (Scism) Howard, age 83, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Attalla, AL was called home to Jesus. Emma’s sunrise was on May 3, 1930 and her sunset was Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Emma’s graduated from Talladega College with a teaching degree where she went on to teach at Norris High School in Attalla, AL, South High School and Union High School in Grand Rapids for many years until she retired. She had a love for music actively using her gift of playing the piano. She will be dearly missed by her son, Earl Howard Jr.; her grandchildren, Earl Dominique Howard, Jasmine Veronica Howard, Rachel Elizabeth (Rick) Hernendez. 3 great grandchildren, Earl Kayvon Howard, Zo’nique Kimeria Howard and Baya Renee Hernendez; many nieces, nephews and cousins. At Emma’s request, cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at Rainbow Cemetery in Alabama.
