Emma DeVries, age 88, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her son, Leroy DeVries; siblings, Harry Rutgers, Tillie Fisher, Hilda Zandstra, William Rutgers, Rena Regenerus, Joan Buiter.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Martin DeVries; children, Martin James (Karen) DeVries, Daniel Gerald (Angela) DeVries, Richard Donald (Marianne) DeVries, Corinne Ann (Jon) Hop; daughter-in-law, Sandra DeVries; 28 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilmina Lanting, Connie (George) Vroom; extended family and friends.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Protestant Reformed Church, 1580 Ferndale SW, Walker, with Rev. David Overway officiating.  Interment will be held at Riverbend Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, November 29, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Society for Protestant Reformed Special Education (6340 Autumn Dr., Hudsonville, MI 49426).
