Emma D. Hoeksema, age 95, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 28, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hoeksema; her twin great granddaughters, Alyssa and Brianna Hoeksema. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gary and Carlene Hoeksema, Barb and Gary Terrell; grandchildren, Carissa and Bob Buursma, Kevin and Teresa Hoeksema, Mariana Volkers, Doug and Emily Terrell, Greg and Mandy Terrell; great grandchildren, Madalyn, Nicole, David and Jacob Buursma, Cameron, Kara and Caleb Volkers, Aubrey Hoeksema; sisters-in-law, Ruth Severance, Lee Henrickson; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Gentiva Hospice. The family would like to thank Oak Crest Manor for their compassionate support, love and care of Emma.

I was sadden to hear of Emma's passing. She was such a dear heart. I always enjoyed talking to her at the dining table. She was one of 6 that shared the table with my Mom-in-law. I'm sure she will be missed. May God bless and comfort you in the days ahead. Fran Bouma
