Emma Albin

Emma (Groothuis) Albin, age 91, of the Grand Rapids area, was received into Heaven by her Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and her son, Steven. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Katherine Mallett, Frances and Paul Merryman, John Jr. and Peggy Albin, James Albin; daughter-in-law, Vicky Albin; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Cornelia DenHollander, Ann and Sam Tjepkema; brother-in-law, June and Ann Albin; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 2, at 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor David VanderMeer officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to David’s House Ministries.

My sympathy to the Albin family. Your family was a blessing to Grandville Ave. CRC which later became Roosevelt Park Community CRC. I considered John my mentor when I was a Deacon and Elder. His quiet leadership displayed strength that I admired. When he spoke everyone listened. He always spoke wisdom into every situation. Blessings!
