Elsje DeFrens, age 88, of Wyoming, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 12, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoon; son, Johannas; daughter, Abelina Planck; daughter-in-law, Thelma DeFrens. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Betty Ritsema; son-in-law, Clarence Planck; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Melissa and Mark Taylor (Angelique, Samantha, Keiana), Melody Greenlee, Lisa Greenlee (Ashley, Nicole), Sandy and Russ Clousing, Elsa and Troy Bentley (Elise, Austen, Kyle), Antoon DeFrens, Anthony Dale and Nonie Berkenpas (Kathryn, Jordan, Cheyenne, Keirsten, AJ, Jacquline, Dillon), Bill and Courtney Greenlee (Bryanah, Abbey), Elsje and Mark Vander Meulen (Kyla, Mykal, Mathieu, Autumn); 7 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews here and in the Netherlands. A special thanks to Wanda Thompson, Cindy Burhans and Alaina Self. Elsje was very dedicated to the Lord and had attended First Assembly of God Church for many years. She worked at Keebler as a faithful employee of 24 years. Funeral services will be held on Thursday 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Interment Kent Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home and on Thursday from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Elsje was such a good friend of our mom,Betty! They both were Dutch and were like sisters to each other. They met when they worked together at Keebler. Our thoughts & prayers to the family!!
