Ellen Jean Doornbos

Ellen Jean Doornbos, age 70, of Hudsonville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, Ladd Broene, father-in-law, Henry Doornbos, and sister-in-law, Mary Doornbos. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Gordon; their children, Craig and Christopher; mother, Carol Broene; sisters and brothers, Jan Langeland, Marian (Bob) Orange, Kathy (Rick) Wray, Al (Marge) Broene, Bob (Mary) Broene; mother-in-law, Loraine Doornbos; brother-in-law, Bob (Judy) Doornbos; many nieces and nephews. Ellen was the president of the Grand Rapids Griffins Booster Club for two years. Funeral services will be held on Sunday 4 pm at Covenant Community Church, 4276 Baldwin St., Hudsonville, with Rev. Steve Bristol officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, as well as an hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Spectrum Health Hospice for their loving care of Ellen.
