Ellen Jane Lehnert

Ellen Jane (Corstange) Lehnert, age 81, of Middleville, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gerald; parents, Scott and Ruth Corstange; and her brother, Scott. Ellen was very proud of her family: Scott (Marlene) of Byron Center, Deborah (Steve) Nash of Lyons, Jane (Dan) White of Rockford, Maureen (Mike) Furst of Byron Center, Kathleen (Kevin) Baird of Middleville, Mary (Brian) Akker of Bettendorf, Iowa, Melissa (Rich) Smith of Caledonia; sister, Mary (Thomas) Schell; brother, Bruce (Maria) Corstange; sisters-in-law, Darlene (Dick) Royce and Patricia (Allen) Pike. She loved her 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren deeply and was always excited to hear of all their endeavors. Ellen was a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church and heavily involved for many years. She loved reading from her worn Bible and sharing her faith with others. She was an avid interior decorator, always redesigning her home and offering tips to others. She loved old movies. She was a great listener and used her Stephen’s Ministry skills to help many get through difficult times. Ellen’s family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who cared for her over the past years. You blessed our family by all your wonderful care and love. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9669 Kraft, with Fr. Loc Trin and Rev. Brian Akker officiating. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Caledonia) 616 E. Main St. with Rosary at 7 pm. Visitation will also take place at the church one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Holy Family Clown Ministry or to the Commission to Every Nation with Jonah & Jessica Cajigas noted on memo line.
