Elizabeth Lynema

Betty Jo (Kamerman) Lynema of Byron Center, MI is rejoicing with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ after completing her earthly tasks on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Betty Jo was born and raised in Churchill, Montana. She came to Grand Rapids to attend Calvin College and stayed after she met and married her husband, Bob Lynema. She was a wonderful wife and mother and also worked at Calvin College for 26 years. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Bob; children, Bobbi (John) Huizenga, Dale (Brenda) Lynema, Lauren (Tim) VanderLaan; grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Elizabeth, Catherine Huizenga, Patrick, Logan and Emma Lynema, Gavin, Riley and Thaddaeus VanderLaan; brothers, Delbert (Nel), Jim (Judy), Henry (Laura) Kamerman; sisters, Helen (Larry) Emmelkamp, Vicki (Steve) DeBoer, Donna (Bob) Kamerman-Housekamp; also surviving are Bob's sisters and brothers, Carol (Ed) Haveman, Marilyn (Paul) DeYoung, Les (Rena) Lynema, Larry Lynema, Darlene (Phil) Morrison; many nieces and nephews. Betty Jo loved the outdoors, singing and serving those around her and her family. She was a longtime member of Immanuel CRC and active in choir, Calvinettes and VBS for many years. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Renee; parents, Henry and Louise Kamerman, Neal and Bertha Lynema. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 23 from 3 to 5pm and 6 to 8pm at Pathway Church, 8350 Byron Center Ave. SW. Celebration of life service will be held 11:00AM on Monday, September 24 at Pathway Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the D.O.C.K.
