Eleanor R Cole, age 85, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gerald L Cole; sisters, Joanne and Doris; brother, Roger. Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her children, Terri and Todd Barton, Shelly Cole, Amy and Rodney Klomparens; grandchildren, Amber, Tommy and Kenzie, Melissa, Chelsea, Erika, Danisue, Alex, Hope; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Kaitlynn, Jaiden, London, and Joey; sisters, Betty (Jerry) Kornoelje, Dorothy (Fred) Mendricks; brother-in-law James (Gloria) Cole; sisters-in-law, Jayne Hoffman, Shirley Heidema. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Fairplains Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Woods at Samaritas, 2000 32nd St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49508.

Amy, Terri and Shelley, Ellie was a very special person in my life and in my heart. I wish I could've spent more time with her in my visits to Michigan. Eventhough current conditions prevented me from doing so, I was there in spirit. Just as I know she is with us right now. Only, healthier, happier and laughing her funny little laughs. You are so missed, Ellie. Rest in peace knowing you were loved by so many.

Amy, Shelley and Terri, I am so saddened by the death of your dear mom. “Mom Cole” showed love for everybody. Especially if you were struggling or felt sad, she was there to give a wink, share her fuzzy robe or giggle with her crazy daughter’s friends. She was giving, kind and loving. I always felt loved in Mom Cole’s presence. Like I was an important part of the family. When I think of her reunion with your dad, my tears become sparkles in my eyes as I smile.
