Elaine Ruth Vander Ploeg, age 90, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Herman Vander Ploeg; brothers and sisters, Henrietta Dunn, Jo Williamson, John Visscher, Harvey Visscher, Genevieve Vander Ploeg; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Al and Ann Vander Ploeg, Jack Vander Ploeg.  She is survived by her children, Jim and Carol Vander Ploeg, Dan and Beth Vander Ploeg, Judy and Paul Van Voorst, Sandy and Russ Rummelt; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Max and Nancy Vander Ploeg,  Vonnie and John Vander Ploeg-Dood; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Manor in the chapel, 725 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Rev. James Evenhouse officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Sunset.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Sunset Legacy Foundation.
