Elaine Joyce Alber

Elaine Joyce Alber, age 95, of Grand Rapids, was called to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 plus years, Thomas; her daughter, Janice and Kathleen; her five sisters; several brothers and sisters-in-law. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Thomas, Jeff, Mary, Lori (James) Zickuhr, Fr. Michael; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Elaine was a faith-filled woman with a servant’s heart. She was a 20+ year employee of K-Mart, Inc. She made sure that each of the kids and grandchildren received a Christmas card with a stick of gum and a dollar bill. She had a quick wit, a heart of gold, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, bowling, sewing, golf and cooking for her family. Her true joy was being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 15, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 2510 Richmond St. NW, Grand Rapids, with Fr. Michael Alber officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
