Polkowski, Edwin T. Edwin T. Polkowski was born September 6, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI. It is with great sadness we announce the death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Georgetown Manor in Jenison. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years, Marie Rubleski; parents, Stanley and Catherine Polkowski; sisters, Lucille Arakowicz, Esther Plaska, Eleanor Wasilewski. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Norrine (Roh) (Treviso); his children, Edward and Marge Polkowski, Thomas and Patricia Polkowski, Kathy Tickfer, Karen and Michael Jasinski, Lori and Tim Sarki, William Roh and Lori, Jack and Joann Roh, Robert and Michelle Roh, Thomas and Debra Roh; grandchildren, Brandon Roh, (a very special grandchild who brought him so much joy), Shannon and Alex Esselink, Jason and Ashley Roh, Jack and Amber Roh, Ryan and Erica Roh, Ashley Klein, Casey Bergman, Andrew Polkowski, Michael Jasinski, Nathan Tickfer, Nicholas Polkowski; five great grandchildren with two more on the way; sister and brothers, Evelyn Balcer, Richard and Bernadine Polkowski, Gerald and Donna Polkowski; many cherished nieces and nephews; two very special friends, Ron Glowacki and Ed Hiaeshutter. Ed proudly served in the US Army artillery for two years. He was a 36 year employee at GM as a pattern maker and also worked 8 years as a licensed builder. He always had a project going and never hesitated to help family or friends with theirs. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home and also on Wednesday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
