Edward Simon Tusing, Jr. born December 18, 1937, age 87, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his home and went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on June 2, 2025. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward S. Tusing, Sr. and Geraldine V. (Harry) Medaris; siblings: James (Bonnie) Tusing, Helen Sloan, Patricia Ingersoll; his in-laws, John B. and Frances E. Fodor; sister-in-law, Mary Alyce Bosch; nephews, Andrew Paul Bosch, Sean O. Fodor; and niece, Julie Bultema; along with many lifelong friends. He is survived by his beautiful bride of 67 years, Susan Lael Tusing; his children: Christine (James) Borgeld, Edward (Rachel Bills) Tusing III, John (Deidre) Tusing, Timothy (Angela) Tusing; his grandchildren: Joshua (Donielle) Tusing, Ashley Brothers, Caitlin (Kurt) Wernet, Tyler Borgeld, James Borgeld II, Ashley (Juan Trotter) Borgeld, Kari Bills, Elizabeth Tusing, Keith (Lori) Tusing, Holli (Jay) Marshall, Sarah (Jason) McCune, Scott (Amanda) Tusing; his great-grandchildren: Madyson, McKenna, Joshua E., and Jaxson Tusing, Brooklyn, Teaona, and Darius Brothers, William Schwandt V., Kensley Wernet, Gabby Borgeld, Kaydence, Maycee, Layla, and Easton Trotter, Haisley Arafat, Sookie, and Nicolette Tusing, Jason and Evelinn Marshall, Ella and Camden Stammis; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, JoAnn and David Brick; and many special nephews, nieces, and friends. Ed enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, Euchre, and camping. He loved to spend time with his family and always enjoyed all the holidays with our traditional menus. His first job as a young teen was delivering The Grand Rapids Herald in the morning before school and delivering The Grand Rapids Press later in the day. He retired from Steelcase after 39 years. He started out in the Chair Plant and then advanced to Director of Employee Sales where he also coordinated items for the Steelcase Charity Department. He is a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus Council 4362, where he previously served as Grand Knight. He later advanced to the role of State Community Director and holds the rank of Fourth Degree Knight. He was involved and implemented many charity events instilling the core values of the importance of charity in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ed was an honorary alumnus of the University of Notre Dame. He was a huge fan of the Fighting Irish football team and enjoyed attending many games there and walking the campus. He was a parishioner of St. John Vianney Church who modeled a life of faith, family, and charity. Ed will be dearly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Rev. John Vallier presiding. Ed will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery with a private family service at a later date. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday, June 6, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, with a rosary held at 8:15 p.m. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the Mass. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
