Edward Timmer, age 93, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Timmer; brothers, Abe Timmer, Gerrit Timmer; sisters, Gertie Timmer, Riena Timmer, Kriena Jager, and Mary Timmer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 72 years, Jeannette; children, Sharon and Terry Dykstra, Edwin and Kris Timmer, Marcia and Jerry Niewiek, Charlene Timmer; 9 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Gert Visser; brother, John Timmer; sister-in-law, Fannie Timmer; brother-in-law, Steve DeWit; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, July 10 at Providence Christian Reformed Church, 7730 Eastern SE, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Frank Guter officiating. Burial Blain Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, July 9, from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, and from 10:00-10:45am on Saturday at the church prior to the service.
