Edward L. Newton, age 94, of Jenison, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023. Ed was a kind and loving husband, dad, and grandpa who was blessed with a great sense of humor. He retired from General Motors Diesel Equipment Plant after 37 ½ years of faithful service. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 75 years, Evelyn; children, Judy and Mike Fox, Sally Brown; grandchildren, Alissa Brown, Robert Brown; great-grandchildren, Clayton, Maddie, Leroy, Taryn; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, November 10 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Dean Prentiss officiating. Burial will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 12-1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to In the Image or to Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com.

Dear Evelyn I was so sad when I read the news from Dean. I have been so worried about you and Ed. I really miss our visits at church and seeing those big smiles. I will remember that picture in my head forever. I want you and your family to know you are all in our prayers and hearts for ever. Evelen and family, I am so sorry to hear about ED's death. I really only know you as my church pew mates. I always liked seeing you at your end of the pew as i sat at the opposite end of the pew. I remember seeing you leaving Meijer one day as I was entering. I knew right away who you were, but not your name. I knew when you were missing after the Covid pandemic. was sorry when you moved to, I think assisted living. Ed sounds like s wonderful man. God Bless you and your family
