Remembering Edward G. Moorman

Edward Gilbert Moorman, age 73, of Jamestown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Jessie Moorman; grandson, Kyle Meppelink. Edward will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Linda (Mohr); children Vicki Baird, Randy and Barb Moorman, Kim and Jamie Meppelink, Jeanne and Jim Youmans, Chris and Jesse De Haan, Steve and Andrea Moorman; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as special longtime friends, John and Joanne Campbell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 11 am at Hanley Christian Reformed Church, 0-372 Jackson St. SW, Grandville, 49418 with Pastors Joseph Vanden Akker and Ron Noorman officiating.  Interment Jamestown Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, and from 10 - 10:45 am on Saturday at church.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hanley Christian Reformed Church or to St Jude Children’s Hospital.

Linda and family, My heart sincerely aches for you at the loss of Ed. Prayers for healing have now changed to prayers for comfort and peace. I tried to think back to how long we have had each other in our lives and I honestly can't remember a time in my life without you all in it. I will always remember Ed being one of my dads favorite people, how Ed cried with my dad (as Elders) when I made my Profession of Faith at church and all the times your family came for coffee and cookies after church. My heart is filled with wonderful memories of Ed and your whole family. I hope that all of the wonderful memories that you have of Ed will carry you through the sad days ahead, the first holidays without him and the the times you look out to the garden and you don't see him there. Know now that he is tending God's garden while he watches over you with love and waits for you to join him. Much love and hugs to you all!! Love Jill

I am sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I was fortunate to have had him as a student and as a baseball player. He worked hard to improve his baseball skills and was a pleasure to have on the team.
