Edna Ann Brinks

Brinks, Edna Ann BRINKS:  Edna Ann Brinks (Marcusse), age 79, of Hudsonville, formerly from McBain, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, with her family at her side.  She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carl Brinks;  their children, Beth (Larry) DeRuiter, Gayla (Bruce) Geers, Sheila (Tom) Markoski, Sheryl (Greg) DuVall, Terry (Mary) Brinks; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Hank (Annetta) Marcusse; sister, Eleanor Ebels; sisters-in-law, Doris Baas, Marie Brinks; brothers-in-law, Gord (Rose) Brinks, Lee (Barb) Brinks, Ernie Brinks.  After spending many years raising her children, Edna worked for 14 years at Northern Michigan Christian School and retired after working 14 years as a remedial reading teacher for Hudsonville Christian School.  She enjoyed baking, sewing, flower gardening and traveling.  She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Edna was an active and faithful member of the Christian Reformed Church.  Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday at Messiah Christian Reformed Church, 2900 Springdale, Hudsonville, with Rev. John Witvliet officiating.  Interment Plainfield Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday 1-3 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or Alzheimer’s Association.
